Professor Weihong Chen talk on silicosis

We were delighted to welcome Professor Weihong Chen, a global expert in silicosis to speak at our departmental seminar this week on the "Exposure-response analysis of silica dust exposure and related adverse health effects using Chinese cohort data”. She gave a fabulous talk and showcased the rich datasets that she is involved with. We hope to collaborate with her in the future on research projects.
Health & Wellbeing At Work 2025 conference

Dr Jo Feary spoke at the Health & Wellbeing at Work conference on 11 March 2025 in Birmingham. They featured in the programme section "Hot topics in Occupational Lung Disease". Taken from the conference programme, "contemporary work-related risks to lung health in the UK will be summarised in a case-based presentation, taking into account challenges for occupational health professionals, employers and industry."

EOPH 2025 conference

Professor Jo Szram spoke at the EOPH conference this year titled ‘Putting Health back into Health Surveillance’ on 14th February 2025 in Birmingham. They outlined the common contemporary issues in occupational lung disease, focusing on the conditions and presentations that a modern day occupational health practitioner is likely to encounter.
