Dr Jennifer Canizales

Laboratory Development Manager

After completing an MSc in Infection & Immunity at UCL, Jennifer joined the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) as a Research Assistant on the SPIRAL (Safe Practice in Reducing Allergy in Laboratories) Study. She went on to do a PhD within the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, her research focused on furthering the understanding of the immunology of Laboratory Animal Allergy.

After completing her PhD in 2020, she joined The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) as a Higher Scientific Officer. At LSHTM she supported overseas projects and worked with laboratory techniques for malaria serosurveillance.

She returned to the NHLI as the Laboratory Development Manager for the Occupational and Environmental Medicine lab service. Her work involves the development of novel immunological assays for occupational disease, as well as the management of the ISO accredited laboratory service.
